Quick Answer

BW offers a Larvesta Egg from the Route 18 house and a high-level post-game Volcarona in Relic Castle. B2W2 moves a lower-level static Volcarona into the Relic Passage/Relic Castle route, making it available much earlier. Larvesta evolves at level 59.

Requirements

Carry an empty party slot to receive the Larvesta Egg.

For the static encounter, unlock the correct Relic Castle route for the selected game.

Save before battling Volcarona and bring status plus suitable Poké Balls.

Larvesta Egg

In the original BW games, an NPC in the Route 18 house gives a Larvesta Egg when the party has room. Hatching and training it is a long-term route because Larvesta does not evolve into Volcarona until level 59.

Static Volcarona in Black and White

After the main story opens the deeper Relic Castle route, navigate through the ruins to the static Volcarona room. This encounter is much higher level than ordinary story Pokémon, so save and prepare before interaction.

Static Volcarona in Black 2 and White 2

The sequels connect Relic Passage to the deepest Relic Castle room and provide a substantially lower-level static Volcarona during the broader story period. Its availability and level should not be copied from BW.

If Volcarona is defeated

Save beforehand to avoid uncertainty. If the encounter is knocked out, use the game's later respawn behavior only after confirming the required story milestone; reloading the pre-battle save is the safest immediate recovery.
