How to Catch Kyurem in Pokémon Black, White, Black 2 and White 2
Reach Giant Chasm and understand the different BW and B2W2 Kyurem rules.
In BW, Kyurem is a level 75 post-game static encounter deep in Giant Chasm. In B2W2, first enter the Hall of Fame, defeat N and catch his level 70 Zekrom in Black 2 or Reshiram in White 2 at Dragonspiral Tower, then return to Giant Chasm to catch level 70 Kyurem and collect the DNA Splicers.
Requirements
BW: complete the main story and reach Giant Chasm from the eastern Unova routes.
B2W2: enter the Hall of Fame, battle N at N's Castle and catch Zekrom in Black 2 or Reshiram in White 2 at Dragonspiral Tower.
Bring status, safe chip damage, healing and enough Poké Balls.
Black and White route
Reach Lacunosa and Route 13
Use the post-game eastern route to approach Giant Chasm.
Cross the cave and crater
Navigate into the central forest area and trigger the environmental change that opens the inner route.
Save before Kyurem
The static encounter is a demanding capture; save before interaction and avoid uncontrolled super-effective damage.

Finish the story encounter
At Giant Chasm, Ghetsis fuses Kyurem with N's Zekrom in Black 2 or N's Reshiram in White 2. Defeat the fused level 55 Kyurem and then Ghetsis; this battle does not add a catchable Kyurem to the player's collection.
Enter the Hall of Fame and find N
Defeat Champion Iris, then follow N's Zoroark from Victory Road into the ruins of N's Castle. Defeat N; his dragon returns to the Dark Stone in Black 2 or Light Stone in White 2, which he gives to the player.
Catch N's legendary Pokémon
Take the stone to Dragonspiral Tower. Black 2 provides a level 70 Zekrom; White 2 provides a level 70 Reshiram. If it is defeated or the player runs, it returns after another Hall of Fame entry.
Return to Giant Chasm
After catching N's dragon, return to the deepest Giant Chasm chamber and save before the level 70 Kyurem encounter. If Kyurem is defeated or escaped from, it returns after another Hall of Fame entry.
Collect the DNA Splicers
The DNA Splicers appear after the Kyurem encounter whether Kyurem was caught, defeated or fled from. Catching Kyurem is still necessary before the player can create Black Kyurem or White Kyurem.
DNA Splicers rules
- Fusion requires Kyurem plus the appropriate Zekrom or Reshiram.
- The result is a Kyurem form, not a separate species; Black Kyurem uses Zekrom and White Kyurem uses Reshiram.
- The absorbed Zekrom or Reshiram is removed from the party and cannot be placed in the PC or used independently until the fusion is undone.
- Use the DNA Splicers again to separate the Pokémon.
- Only one Kyurem fusion can exist in the save at a time. Separation requires an open party slot for the restored Zekrom or Reshiram.

Common Mistakes
Trying to catch fused Kyurem during the Ghetsis story battle.
Treating Black Kyurem and White Kyurem as independent Pokédex species.

FAQ
Can you catch Black Kyurem or White Kyurem directly?
No. Catch Kyurem and obtain the relevant Zekrom or Reshiram, then use the DNA Splicers to create the form.
Where is Kyurem in Black and White?
Kyurem is a level 75 post-game static encounter in the deepest part of Giant Chasm. In Black 2 and White 2, its later static encounter is level 70 and requires catching N's dragon first.
Which of N's legendary Pokémon appears in each sequel?
Black 2 lets the player catch N's Zekrom at Dragonspiral Tower, while White 2 lets the player catch N's Reshiram. Catching that dragon makes Kyurem available again in Giant Chasm.
